The cicadas are chirping. Narration: “Kurosaki-kun, how are you? It has been half a year since the two of you studied abroad- Right now, I’m also a decent third year exam candidate student.”
In front of 3-A class, a teacher calls out to Yuu and informs her that she did well in the final exams. Yuu is delighted to hear that. To her dismay, he tells her that it is far from the level of her target university... “I really didn’t expect that you want to get an international major in J University. Good luck.”
Narration: “How summer in Montreal? Shirakawa-kun said, ‘It’s very comfortable’. I’m envious too death!” After the teacher announced the closing ceremony [end of school term], Tarako and Meiko meet up with Yuu who apologized for making them wait because the class meeting took too long. Meiko tells her that they also have just arrived.
Tarako says that it has been a long time since they go back to the dorm together. Someone says that they should occasionally go to the café. Yuu says that she’ll go to cram school after this. Someone praises her for giving it her all.
Yuu calls out to Mako that they changed it to new pictures again. Mako chuckles that today’s pictures are secretly taken by the dorm head and it was from last year’s summer. A couple of girls look at the pictures and says, so handsome and they’ll greet the pictures everyday.
Mako says that it seems that the guys in the dorm have also secretly taken pictures. Yuu says that she’ll anticipated them then. A girl tells the others that she heard that there’s an appreciation [/consolation] party for this school term tonight.
Narration: “It’s great to be able to stay in Harumi Dorm! Everyone is sincerely looking forward to your [the princes] return.” There’s a poster of Yusuke telling the third years to also take a breather at 18:00. “Wear yukata and come!”
That night, there is a screen with the words ‘Black Prince & White Prince Summer Special!” On the board, it says BBQ Party. Some wonder what’s up. Holding a megaphone and a barbecue, Yusuke calls out to everyone and introduces himself as the proxy dorm leader.
He invites everyone for a toast. “Right now, we are going to have a special video broadcast of the two princes!!” Everyone exclaims in excitement. The video started with ‘memories of the two guys’ as pictures from first year are shown.
Wearing a yukata, Mina comments that the picture quality is getting better and better. Yuu, who is in charge of the barbeque comments that it is like a movie and there is even music. “Ah, it’s the first year basketball game! How nostalgic.”
Someone says it’s so precious that she wants to watch closer. Someone squeals over Haruto wearing a military uniform that s/he wants to be ruthlessly reprimanded by him. Then, it’s Takumi wearing ski clothes. Then, it’s last year’s sports festival and the two guys look so handsome.
Yuu blushes red when she sees a picture of Haruto pulling her to kiss her. She wonders how come they have that. The others are also laughing and blushing over the picture.
Yusuke says that while the two aren’t around at this time, he is responsible in filling dorm life with passion. Yuu exclaims that no wonder he’s the proxy dorm leader. Yusuke says nah, he isn’t that amazing. Looking dark, Mina tells them that kissing picture really puts her in a bad mood. “By the way, do you have any news about Kurosaki-kun?”
Yuu says that he’s coming back in the New Year. “He said that he’ll join the Harumi graduation ceremony!” Yusuke leaves to tell a couple of freshmen to throw the trash in the trash bin. Mina says that is old news, they know that before he left. “It has been half a year and yet there is no new news?”
Yuu confidently says that Haruto is the type who reads but doesn’t reply back. “Hardly answers the phone but Kurosaki is that kind of person. I’m not panicking at all.” Mina goes tsk and says that the probability rate of breaking-up among long distance relationships is at 80%. Yuu exclaims where did she get that probability.
Some guys came and offer that they’ll cook the barbecue. Mina says that perhaps, right now, Haruto already has a new girlfriend over there. Becoming nervous, Yuu says that Takumi regularly contacts her so he’ll tell her if something had happened... Devil Mina chuckles and says that Takumi is a sly guy. Aghast Yuu says no way...
While sitting on the bench, Yuu tells Mina that she heard that they have to use French in reports and homework so it is quite daunting. “Kurosaki-kun is so tired that he dozes off everyday. Kpapa’s work will also continue throughout summer vacation... So, he basically doesn’t have time to go and play around with a beautiful girl!”
Mina asks if Haruto himself told her that. Yuu confidently says, OF COURSE, it is Takumi who told her. Mina comments that in the end, Yuu is so big-hearted. Yuu confides that she acted cool by sending him off so she should also do her best.
“That is because Kurosaki-kun always use the fastest way to accomplish the things he wanted to do. He is always constantly going forward. HE WILL ALSO STUDY COLLEGE ABROAD. If I cannot bear it when he’s abroad now, how will I endure it afterwards?”
Mina looks away and says, geez, for a rare second there, she thought Yuu is quite cool. Soon, everyone is screaming over yukata wearing princes. It is last year’s summer festival.
Mina chuckles and says that she was quite surprised when she heard Haruto’s reason as to why he chose Yuu. “It’s quite simple actually. This was during the summer festival.” Covering her ears, Yuu asks if it is darker information!? Mina says that’s right.
While Yuu braces herself for the answer, Mina says, “Without a thought, he answered the question. He said, ‘It is because she is Akabane’. *Yuu looks surprised* It is just that sentence. What else can I do after that? *slaps hand* Ah, a mosquito! You also worked hard in order to have a totally new image in high school. Even if I’m a lot stronger than you, but your self-confidence towards yourself is a bit...”
The people screams that the two are so handsome- Yuu is surprised to see the two in their school uniform. Pointing at the picture, Yuu asks Yusuke what’s with that. Yusuke says that everyday, he would ask Takumi to give him a picture♫
Yuu’s eyes popped out when Yusuke said, “Kurosaki-kun also sends me email. Ah! Yesterday, he even called him on the phone. I didn’t expect him to have a thoughtful personality. He even told me that if there is anything about being a dorm leader that I don’t understand, I can call him anytime♡”
Mina comments that he is quite amazing. Yusuke says that he also tells Haruto what’s going on with everyone♫ Dark Yuu gets her cellphone and calls Haruto. Somewhere else, a cellphone almost covered with books is ringing. Haruto reaches out for the phone and says, “Kaji, what’s up.”
Yuu exclaims, “You answered! Kurosaki-kun!? Will you also [send me] a picture of you wearing a school uniform...” Haruto says, “...it’s 5 in the morning, stupid dog.” He quickly goes back to sleep. Takumi wakes up from the call. Sweatdropping he mutters, that’s quite cruel, Kuro. “Gambatte Yuu-chan.”
Back in Japan, Yuu and Mina hears the dial tone. Yusuke says that Haruto is really spirited, right. Yuu gloomily says that she’s going to study. Yusuke tells her gambatte! Mina thinks that Haruto is quite scary. Crying and angry, Yuu thinks that Haruto treats her so cold and indifferent! “He basically doesn’t think about me, stupid devil-!!”
Soon, there are scenes of Yuu studying in cram school. She got a D grade for J University for international degree and a grade of A for C University. And, there are more scenes of her studying while walking, and studying late at night.
At school, the teacher tells the class that the results of the mock exams are out. While others are rejoicing that their level went up and they are closer to the college they want to go, Yuu is depressed that her grades didn’t go up for her first choice and she obviously really want to get that major. “...in the end, I overestimated my abilities for this challenge, right?”
At night, Yuu dreamt of smiling Haruto saying, “This is Akabane [I know].” Yuu wakes up with tears and calls out his name. It is already 10am. She thinks that she unconsciously fell asleep... cram school... *slapping her face* ...this isn’t the time to be depressed! I also have to make progress!”
Later on, the dorm head calls out to Yuu and asks if she is going to cram school on Sunday. Yuu says that she is going to apply for specialized lessons! The dorm head says that she has a postcard from Kurosaki. Yuu is surprised by this.
With hearts, the dorm head says that in this age, he would still send a postcard to keep in touch with you? “So romantic-♡ Take care on your way.” There is no message on the postcard that was sent from France. Aghast Yuu wonders what’s going on when he obviously won’t answer her emails nor answer her calls.
She flips the postcard and it is a picture of Mont Saint-Michel. Yuu blushes and mutters, what the...not even a single word yet suddenly sending a picture postcard...
She starts to cry and think he’s so mean. “What a beautiful building. Where is this? He is definitely having a great time right now. Darn it. ...but, this is great. Even if I’m still uneasy, --but, first, I also have to press on and I cannot waver. *more postcards posted on Yuu’s wall near her study table* Later on in life, Kurosaki-kun and I will be together.”
Soon, it is the New Year. Yuu goes to pray in the shrine. “...the official exams are coming soon. I hope that I can smoothly pass it! I’ll definitely pass!! Oh God! And also, please protect and bless my long distance relationship with Kurosaki-kun!! Please, I beg of you!!”
Later on, Yuu went to her parent’s house with some groceries. She wonders if Haruto will come for the graduation ceremony since he didn’t contact her last year. She calls out, “I’m back- Mom- I’m going to study so cook me some nutritious dinner...”
Then, she sees her parents holding a bag from Canada, and Haruto who is taking off his coat. He greets her and says, she’s back. Yuu goes huh? Then, she drops her groceries. Her mother asks her what she wants to eat. Yuu asks, what’s going on!?
Confused Yuu tells them to wait, she doesn’t quite understand what’s going on. Yuu’s mother informs her that Haruto is going to stay in their house today.
Later on, the couple are in the living room. Yuu served Haruto with some tea. She asks if he wants to go in the kotatsu [table with heater] since it’s really cold.
Blushing Yuu thinks that she’s so nervous because it has been a long time since she saw him. “I cannot dare look at him... *drinks some tea* Mom and dad went out to buy some things... What do we talk about before when we’re all alone...?”
Holding her face to him, Haruto tells her not to leave him, after all, they haven’t seen each other for a year. Haruto starts sniffing her. It embarrassed Yuu that she told him not to smell her. Ding dong- Haruto says that her smell isn’t the same as before. Yuu says that she didn’t spray anything on... “Could it be that I smell of body odor!? It is because I ran back home...” Haruto says it’s possible.
Pushing a pillow on his face, she calls him black devil and let her go! “Seeing each other after a year, but how come I’m the only one who is so awkward. I really want to properly dress up before we meet...” Haruto asks, “How come you’ll always say that? *holds her face* Akabane is Akabane.”
Yuu recalls the time when he told her, ‘You are you’. Yuu smiles and tells him that he is also the same. “You always haven’t changed since the time we met.” Haruto blushes a bit and declares that he doesn’t know what she’s saying. Yuu closes her eyes when he leans toward her.
Pause. She opens her eyes and tells him not to make her wait. Haruto turns away and sighs. Yuu asks what’s up. “Kurosaki-kun, you... *he tells her to wait a minute.* What is it? Turn over here...” She is surprised to see Haruto blushing really red. He says, “...what, you’re making me so nervous.”
Comment: It is really rare to find a lover like Yuu in real life. It does make me wonder if it is because of her being so understanding and everything that Haruto realized that he must let go of her.
Hm...is it because of her deep love that she is okay with this kind of long distance relationship or it is more tolerable because of her personality? I’m not sure about her other two friends but Mina obviously cannot bear that kind of relationship especially if it is for a long period of time.
It is one thing for it to be a long distance relationship but then, this is like one-sidedly communicating with the other. Then, the other would just send some random postcards of places where he went. And, the one who informs her what’s going on is Takumi. Well, story wise, it is indeed different.
In a way, I can guess why Haruto does that. Probably because talking or contacting her would make him miss her more and make him lose focus on his goal especially since he seems to be having a bit of hard time with French.
Haha, I wonder what would have happened to Yuu if she did go with him since he is already having a hard time. And, I guess with that kind of long distance relationship, Yuu managed to also concentrate and also pursue her own goal.
Thankfully, it didn’t distract Yuu since she can be the type who’ll overly worry. Actually, she’ll only worry when someone like Mina points things out to her. ^^; From this chapter, she can actually psyche herself to not worry and is satisfied with postcards.
Well, Haruto being Haruto just barge in unannounced. Hehe, I guess her parents don’t mind especially since he got gifts for them. And, about the blushing in the end...I don’t really know what’s up with that. It isn’t like she was ‘attacking’. ^^;; I guess it is a way to show him as somewhat ‘human’? He is also awkward and it just didn’t show at first? Scans from Bilibili.
