As Takumi and Yu look at him, Haruto says, “Quickly do whatever you want with Takumi. Weren’t you arguing noisily on the phone about doing it?” Flustered Yu says that she only got temporarily flustered that she was saying all sort of things. “And besides, right now, I can also explain this kind of situation. Shiro...”
To Haruto’s surprise, Takumi holds blushing Yu’s face to him and says, “Then, let’s kiss okay?” Yu goes !? and calls out his name. Leaning to her, Takumi says, “Anyway, Kuro also agreed to it.” Yu exclaims, no, no, wait! Takumi looks at Haruto and says, “Can I, Kuro?”
Haruto pulls Yu to him and says that he cannot. Noticing Takumi, Yu apologizes to him. Takumi smiles and tells her to leave first. Yu did as he asked.
When they’re alone, Takumi says, “Let me tell you, Kuro, do not involve me in your quarrels with her. *Haruto looks surprised as Takumi gives the mats to him* Let me say that compared to you, I know more about romance since junior high. *turns to leave* This time around, you are definitely at fault, too.”
Haruto tells him not to be so one-sided. Takumi asks what, could it be that he’s mistaken? Haruto says yes, because that girl just randomly got angry. Takumi says, “That is bad huh. *leaves while waving his hand* You better not cry if she dumps you--” Scratching his head, flustered Haruto clicks his tongue.
Soon, the school bell rings. Someone shouts that it is time to go home. Blushing Yu thinks that she still hasn’t calmed down and that really shocked her to death.
Recalling Takumi saying that they kiss, Yu grabs the wired fence tightly and mutters, “Even if Kurosaki-kun is all agitated at one side, but I didn’t think that Shirakawa-kun would unexpectedly go along with him... For me, choosing whom to kiss is a very important thing...
...*depressed* But, for Kurosaki-kun, it’s possible that it isn’t like that. –there’s a big difference with our way of thinking. *touches her lips* What should I do for our relationship to resume as before?”
On the day of the sports festival, everyone is cheering for the competitors in a sack race. It was announced that it will be the second year’s men running match next. While breathing hard, Yu’s friends congratulate her for winning first place.
Second placer Tarako says that Yu had left her far behind. Fourth placer Meiko comments that Yu is in a sorry state. [<- breathing hard, sweaty and all dirty] Yu says no, she is just a bit reckless. Then, it was announced that Haruto and Takumi are tied in first place for the race.
While the fangirls cheer over the two guys, Yu thinks that Haruto looks so serious and in the end, he’s still angry, right. “This morning, I tried talking with him but he still ignores me...” Mina comments that Takumi can run quite fast and that is really unexpected.
She asks Yu how come she won’t fall for Takumi. Yu says that it seems that she has a lot of hostility towards Takumi. Mina tells her that it was Takumi who first showed malice towards her. Yu couldn’t believe that Takumi would do that to someone.
A fanboy, along with other fanboys, call out to Mina and says that if he gets first place in the relay race, would she reward him with a kiss!! Yu cannot believe they would say that. The other fanboys want to have that same kind of reward.
Pointing her finger to her lips, Mina smiles and says that she’ll think about it if he gets the MVP award. The guys scream in excitement and they left. Surprised Yu exclaims in disbelief over how can she easily agree to that, and is that really okay!?
Leaning to her, Mina says that it is just a kiss and didn’t they also kiss? Yu says that is quite unexpected and isn’t Mina too wanton [do as she please; Mina probably leaned closer.]. Ah— don’t!!” While the other guys blush, Mina tells her that she won’t kiss her. “Such a child.” Then, Mina left.
Blushing Yu wonders if she is overreacting. “Being told that I’m a child... If I also have that kind of attitude like Mina, then I won’t be quarreling with Kurosaki-kun...” Her thoughts were interrupted when she hears the teachers at the VIP booth are abuzz over the drinks not prepared yet.
Yu wonders what’s going on. She overhears some students saying that they heard a high end limousine had just parked at the gate and there’s a VIP coming. A teacher nervously offers Haruto’s father some tea but he sternly declines. Stunned Yu wonders how come he’s here!?
The secretary of Kpapa [<- shortcut of Haruto’s father] nervously says, “President, we must quickly go to Narita...” Kpapa tells him to make the plane wait. The aghast secretary thinks that he is too reckless.
Kpapa says how can he possibly leave without seeing a single competition. To the teachers’ shock, Kpapa tells them to do the opening ceremony all over again from the start. Yu thinks that he also came last year. She timidly goes to him and says that it has been a long time, Kurosaki papa-san.
Glaring at her, Kpapa says, Kurosaki papa? He asks her when will Haruto compete and tell him once all the competitions that he joined. Aghast Yu says that she doesn’t know. “I wasn’t able to talk with him. Right now, we are in a cold war... And we aren’t classmates right now...”
Kpapa bluntly says, “You’re already being dumped, huh. In the end, it’s like that. I told you earlier that you’re not compatible with Haruto.” With a tear, surprised Yu says that they simply have a bit of conflicting view. The teachers tell Yu that since she knows him then can they ask her to be his guide.
Kpapa was distracted when someone calls out to Haruto. He is surrounded by the club captains as they ask him to listen to them. Kpapa asks if it is a gang fight and Haruto never changes. Yu says it isn’t so!
The club captains were asking Haruto to participate in the club relay race for them since they want to be the number one in their respective clubs. Walking away, Haruto tells them to quit bothering him.
Yu tells Kpapa that lately, the guys like being around him even if they were afraid of him when they were in first year. “...but, right now, they have found out that he is a naturally nice person.”
While Haruto keeps on telling the captains that they’re annoying, Kpapa tells Yu that before, it is also like this, he is surrounded by people but he never let anyone come close to him except for Takumi. “I’m leave now for Narita.” Yu asks if he’s going like this and he hasn’t talk with him, right?
Kpapa says, “If you want to make up with him then you must hurry. There’s no advantage in dragging it on. *slightly smiles* Just like [what happened with] me.” Yu looks surprised as Kpapa leaves with the secretary.
To Yu’s shock, the secretary pushes the tablet to her and says, “...president says that you help him take a picture of young master... And, also video!” Yu is surprised over how big the tablet is.
Somewhere, a guy in a kendo uniform breathlessly calls out to Haruto to wait. Haruto tsks and says that didn’t he chase him enough already. Holding out his shinai, kendo guy says that after Vday they haven’t talked with each other. “Right now, I have a secret request that I want to ask of you!”
Haruto looks at him. [<- that’s in chapter 42 wherein the captains are thanking him for being rude to Mina that their girlfriends no longer entertain thoughts to be with Haruto] It is announced that the afternoon competitions are going to start soon.
Looking around, Yu thinks that she didn’t see Haruto around and she still has to take a picture of him. “Should I take the initiative to look for him...and apologize. What Kurosaki papa said is very reasonable... Make up with him? *imagines Haruto darkly glaring at her*...
...This cannot be settled easily. But this issue is definitely not that easy! Since he is a S[adist]!! After apologizing, it definitely won’t be a good outcome for me!!” Yusuke calls out to her and nervously says, “About...about that...”
Yu greets him and says that it seems that she hasn’t seen him for a long time. Then, she looks surprised that he asks what is it. Yu tells him that she doesn’t know how to use this thing [tablet]. Yusuke tells her that is amazing, that’s the latest model.
Yu says that someone ask her to take some pictures of Haruto. Yusuke nervously says is that so. Soon, the announcer shouts that the club relay race is going to start, get ready, start— “And, everyone are quickly running. Currently, the soccer team is leading and then...”
There is a scene of a guy in a kendo uniform getting ready. Yusuke suggests to Yu that they go over that side where she can see the whole sports field and perhaps, she can find Haruto. The announcer asks if the first placer can maintain and win until the end—
“The outcome will be won by the captain of each respective club and at the same time, it is decided on the last leg [of the race]!” Standing at a place with a huge billboard behind, Yusuke tells Yu that it is really nice to view the competition from here. Yu agrees with him and there’s no one there.
There were loud cheers. It was announced that the kendo club’s contestant is surpassing everyone one by one. Holding up the tablet, Yu says that guy runs quite fast so she’ll try taking a picture... She then calls out to Yusuke that he is acting strange lately. Nervous Yusuke denies it.
Just then, they notice the billboard behind them is falling down. It was announced that the first place is kendo club’s... Everyone is surprised to hear a loud crash. The poster has fallen down beside Yu and Yusuke. [<- I think Yu pushed Yusuke to the side.]
Everyone is abuzz as someone says that the billboard has fallen down. Yu asks Yusuke if he is alright. She is surprised to see him looking aghast and scared. He mutters, “Th..they would expectedly do this kind of thing...” And, he promptly faints. Yu calls out for Yusuke to wake up.
While Takumi hurries to the scene, people are saying that someone fainted. Yu starts to tremble. She felt her legs have weakened that she couldn’t stand up. Then, the announcer shouts that it is the kendo club’s captain. Yu is surprised to see the kendo club captain in front of her.
He quickly carries her and Yusuke away. The announcer says that after getting first place, he would even save people-- Looking at the scene, Takumi mutters, isn’t that... The other kendo members say that their captain is so cool. At the infirmary, the doctor says that she’ll bring the fainted student to the hospital so Yu can rest here.
Yu is surprised when the kendo captain sits beside the bed. Yu thanks him. Removing the kendo helmet, Haruto says, stupid, it’s me. This surprises Yu. The announcer says that they want to interview Kikuchi [菊池], the kendo captain regarding this heroic deed which is quite amazing! Yu exclaims in disbelief. “What’s going on!? How come you’re...dressed up like that?”
Haruto tells her that he [Kikuchi] begged him to replace him in the competition at all costs. “He cried as he told me that his foot is injured. *looks away from Yu* He doesn’t want to give trouble to his other comrades. I cannot do anything but simply join. Next time, do not stand so near a billboard.”
Yu blushes as she thinks that even if they’ve quarreled but he is still the same as before. He is surprised when Yu suddenly hugs him from behind. He looks at her and says, hey...
Yu says, “Le... let us...make up already okay? Your personality is quite awkward [/troublesome], you’re quite different from others and you’re also a devil. *Haruto darkly says hey* I have deeply learned [/experienced] all of that but that day when Aida-san took the initiative to kiss you, I found out that I don’t really like that at all.”
Haruto looks surprised and Yu seems surprised by what she said. Haruto looks serious. Yu exclaims, “...but, I came to it realize now! That in the end, it is still no good! I’m still very angry...” Yu is surprised when Haruto suddenly grabs her hand and kisses her. A tear formed on Yu’s eye.
As they kiss, the announcer says that the competition has already entered it’s final... After the kiss, Yu [seems to] kisses him. He smiles and says, “—Akabane, did that thing made you really angry? *Yu blushes* For me, a kiss isn’t such an important thing but for you, it isn’t the same.”
Blushing really red, Yu says that he definitely thinks that a person like her is so annoying and honestly, she herself also thinks that... Holding her to him, he says, “No, because it also feels good to quarrel over this kind of thing. I can somewhat understand your feelings...
...*bites her lower lip and gives her a French kiss* ...but, afterwards, you’re not allowed to ignore me again. *licks his lip* Like that, I’ll have insomnia.”
Yu is surprised as he hugs her tight. Yu cannot believe it and she thinks that he’s quite cute like this. “...b, but... *holding her hands up* ...but at this kind of situation, what should I do!? Do I hug him? But it’s no good since I reek of sweat, right!?” Haruto asks her what she is staring blankly at.
Somewhere else, a glasses guy informs Takumi where the fallen billboard was put aside. Takumi looks at the ropes that were on the sand bags. [<- holding the billboard up] Looking at the clean cut on the rope, he mutters, “The ropes were cut by someone. *realizes something* So, targeting those two, someone deliberately did this?”
Comment: Hehe, I wonder if what Takumi did help Haruto somewhat realize why ‘whom one kisses’ is important to Yu. Haruto might be thinking that Yu can’t pull it off but then, he didn’t expect Takumi would play along. In a way, Takumi is siding with Yu in this quarrel.
Not putting importance to kisses is another similarity between Haruto and Mina. Nevertheless, Yu has a trump card and that is getting along with Haruto’s father =P If this keeps up, Yu will be the one who’ll help in improving and mending the father-son relationship.
In a way, it seems that she is the ‘interpreter’ of the motives/whys of the other’s actions. And, even if Haruto’s father also thinks that they are not compatible, he approves of Yu and even gave her an advice. Hehe, it seems that Haruto’s father is our preview of what Haruto would be like if he’s older and had a kid =P
It seems that Hino and others already know who the real girlfriend is. As some readers mentioned, he most likely saw that Vday picture of the couple in the room. Yusuke looks really uneasy with Yu and perhaps, guilty over what he did. He probably fainted that not only he did that, he endangered Yu and they also tried to ‘get rid’ of him.
Thanks to that, the two finally made up, lovey-dovey and a talk a bit about the kissing issue. Haruto became a bit understanding and he revealed a bit of weakness to her by admitting that he couldn’t sleep because of it ^^ Because of Yu, I guess he won’t easily kiss others from now on. And, it seems that Yu is still overly conscious about herself to naturally return affections.
Now, Takumi already knows that someone is up to no good. I think he would inform Haruto about it. They’ll put two and two together especially with Yusuke acting strange lately.
