There is no club on that day but Chika still went with thoughts of their lost in the competition. Because of Suzuka's encouragement, Chika goes in the clubroom to find Takezou inside. And, everyone ends up going to the club. They plan to practice something but do not want to know what to play. Suzuka sees them and asks if they got nothing to do when there's no club today. Suzuka tells them to play in the school festival to have experience on playing in front of an audience. After everyone recovered from the shock that Suzuka is acting like an adviser, he shows them the piece they are going to play. Takezou and others are shock when Suzuka said that he wrote it. Suzuka claims that he is already a koto club adviser for two years and he just knows how to read and write koto music sheets. Takezou, Satowa and Hiro are shock. Chika and others think just think that is inevitable that Suzuka can do that. Suzuka made the 17 string part easy because Sane is going to play it. This made Chika jealous. Suzuka says that regarding the National’s qualifiers, he’ll look for a piece with Satowa’s help.
Before leaving, Suzuka tells them to do their summer vacation homework or else, the instructor head will have an eye on them again. Takezou got nervous when Chika and others wonder what homework is. At Tetsuki’s place, they learn of Suzuka’s family who are all musicians with a world renowned conductor and a genius pianist. Somehow, it made everyone happier that they were told by Suzuka that ‘it is a very amazing performance’, and they can play better. Soon, they have to do summer vacation homework and practice koto for the school festival. In the new school term, Chika’s hand is finally well. Satowa tells him to be careful about it or else, there will be a relapse. Chika comments that it has been a long time that her hair is like that. She asks if she can’t. To her irritation, he says no, it doesn’t matter at all. She says is that so. He asks what she is angry about. She says that it is nothing, and she’s the same as usual. In 2-A class, they are going to do a dessert store so next, they are going to group together. Takezou is somewhat tense with Hiro looking away from him in their group of four. They are in charge of shopping.
The girl whines about why she is grouped with this country bumpkin when she wanted to be with some popular guy. She says that lately, Hiro had become cute when before, she said that Takezou is ‘truly a naïve thing’ and treat him like an idiot. This made Hiro flustered. As Takezou stares at her, Hiro apologizes to him. This made Takezou laugh and says that it is fine. She asks why he laughed. He says no, before, she had said a lot meaner things and besides, right now, he already really understands her so it is okay. This made Hiro blush and think that this is bad for she wants to cry. The other girl asks what is that reaction, could it be that she.. The other guy says that it is better for her to be more discreet. Then, she quarreled with the guy whom she calls a country bumpkin. At the roof, Chika tells the others that their class is going to do a café store with him requesting for them to have a strawberry daifuku. Sane and others are going to have a haunted house. Tetsuki muses about not imagining that Chika would join a school festival and even perform.
They talk about Suzuka is the real thing and not just because his parents are amazing. There is a flashback of Suzuka said that for training they have to listen to all sorts of music that they don’t listen to before so that they can play more happily than before. Satowa wanted to ask about coaching during the performance but he left by saying that is the goal for now. End flashback. So, that is what they have been doing lately..listening to music from morning to night. Tetsuki says that it seems that they are busy again. Chika teases him that they ended up quarrelling. While having lunch with Satowa, her friends talk about Chika suggesting strawberry daifuku. They are amused that a scary guy would unexpectedly like strawberries and it feels a bit cute for he looks so happy when everyone agreed to it. They ask Satowa what is Chika like at the club. Somewhat flustered, she says that she thinks that it is very normal. To her surprise, they ask if she has someone she likes at the club since there are many guys there. Satowa says she doesn’t. She wonders what’s with this conversation and is this a normal conversation between girls?
Then, they start talking about one of them having a boyfriend during summer vacation. Satowa kept quiet for she couldn’t get into the tempo of the conversation. In the club, Hiro laughs and tells Satowa that at the end of summer vacation, there are many lovers and no matter what is said, everyone are young girls. Satowa says is that so. She asks if she is a bit unsociable for she totally do not understand this topic. Hiro hugs her and says that she’s so cute, and it is okay for Satowa to keep on being like this. Satowa asks Hiro if she has someone she likes. Hiro pauses and says none at the moment. They were interrupted by Sane who wants to learn the 17 string more. Hiro hits her face and tells herself to concentrate for they definitely have to enter the Nationals and she has to practice. Later on, the shopping group was asked to buy some stuff. The other two are not there so Takezou says if Hiro doesn’t want to do it, then he’ll go by himself. Hiro exclaims that she didn’t say that she isn’t going. While walking with Takezou, Hiro couldn’t understand her wavering. Just then, a girl calls out to Hiro. Hiro freezes for it is the friend who told everyone that Hiro is making things difficult for her. The friend is with Hiro’s ex-boyfriend .
They mention about not seeing Hiro after they graduated junior high. Takezou asks if they are Hiro’s friends. He notices how distraught she looks. The ex-boyfriend asks Hiro if this guy is her current boyfriend. Hiro says no. The guy start saying that Hiro is the same as before. He asks if she is still doing that kind of thing like what she did to them before. Hiro exclaims that she didn’t do anything to them before and she already told him every time. The ex-boyfriend sighs and says that is what Hiro said but in the end, she refuses to say ‘sorry’. Feeling the floor crumbling beneath her feet, Hiro wonders why she.. Takezou goes in front of Hiro and apologizes to the two for they are in a hurry. He takes Hiro’s hand and walks away. The ex-boyfriend tells him to be careful for if he believes that girl, one day— He stops talking when Takezou glares at him. He then smiles and tells the ex-boyfriend not to worry for compared to him, he can see [/judge] people more clearly. This made Hiro teary-eyed as they left the two looking surprised. Later on, Hiro tells him about her hand. Takezou lets her go and apologizes. Hiro tries to explain but Takezou says that they must go and buy the things. As he walks ahead, Hiro’s heart is beating loudly. She thinks that this is bad and hopes her heart not to make a sound again. [<- not to fall in love again?]
Meanwhile in the class, Chika asks Satowa what she is doing. He tells her that she is making a menu that will be placed outside. Chika burst into laughter over Satowa’s bad drawing and calls her really amazing for she totally couldn’t draw. Then, Satowa overhears a couple of girls saying that Chika is smiling. Satowa quickly holds up a drawing pad to cover Chika’s face. Chika asks what she is doing. Blushing Satowa says that it is nothing. After she put down the drawing pad, Satowa wonders what’s up with her. Chika comments about the bad condition of the board. She tells him that she used some discarded wood. He offers to help her fix it up so give him some tools. Satowa notices that he is about to bend down to the board that has a nail sticking up. She shouts for him to wait, there is a nail.. She holds up his leg and his lips slightly touch her forehead. This surprised them both. Blushing Chika backs away and apologizes and tells him that he absolutely didn’t do it deliberately. Satowa says that it is because she suddenly rushed to him. Chika freaks out because she starts crying which also surprises her. Satowa apologizes and runs off. Stunned Chika wonders if he made Satowa cry. Tetsuka who saw everything is speechless. While running at the hallway, Satowa thinks that it is so hot, and what should she do..it’s so hot. Somewhere else, Sane and the others are happily making scary masks for their haunted house.
Comment: And, afterwards, Hiro decides to keep her love for Takezou a secret. Only Suzuka knows about it. There was awkwardness between Chika and Satowa with Satowa kept on avoiding him. He was advised by Tetsuki to give Satowa some time to recover so Chika started to ignore her. Then, in the end, he asks her what he should do for them to reconcile. He apologizes for giving her a super detestable memory. He wanted to apologize to her but she kept on avoiding him. He apologizes again and Satowa becomes flustered that she doesn’t know what to say. Just then, Suzuka and others come back. Since Chika is also looking at Suzuka, it is only Suzuka who saw Satowa blushing. Suzuka started to leave that Chika asks him what’s with that reaction.
