By Request: Love So Life [Chapters 105-106]

Shiharu has finished making food for the bento boxes. Today, everyone is going to hanami [watch cherry blossoms]. She looks at the ring box on her nightstand where her cellphone is also charging. She blushes. She holds the box and is surprised when her cellphone starts ringing. It is a text from Seiji. She reads that today, it seems that show his face a bit and because he’ll go there late, tell him where the place is. This made her blush and wonder if it is okay for her to wear that kind of outfit. Going towards the mirror, she wonders if she should curl her hair. She recalls the time when everyone is together, Seiji has to leave because of work. His mother said that is so fast when Shiharu just came. Seiji can only apologize. End flashback. Shiharu tells herself not to think of it again and even if she is quite bothered by it, she’s afraid that nothing special will happen.

Soon, everyone is walking towards the park. They mention about the park in Tokyo being big. Akane says that Shiharu and others aren’t here yet. Bro [twins’ father] says that it seems that they came early. Then, the twins spot Shinaru who calls out to them. After a hug, Shiharu comments that they’ve grown. She thanks grandma for coming. Grandma says that she should thank her for coming to them. Grandpa asks if she is already used to work. She says yes. Then, Curly [girl] and Black [guy] are arguing about Black should have left his luggage first at home before coming but he insists that it isn’t big. Shiharu calls out to them. They greet her and mention about the twins growing up fast. Shiharu wants to introduce grandma to Black since it is the first time they met but she is already familiar with him thanks to the notebook that she gave her. Black exchange greetings with everyone. Akane wants to show Curly her somersault but was dissuade by grandma for there are many people there. Curly thinks that Akane’s personality hasn’t changed.

So, they prepare to buy tickets to get into the park. Grandma, together with grandpa and bro, tells Shiharu and others that they are separating from them for they cannot have fun with the old people. Bro is going to accompany them. Akane says that grandma and others want to see the Tokyo Skytree. Grandma says the twins will have more fun with Shiharu so they’ll meet again in the evening. After they left, Shiori comments that it felt that they had some apprehensions about them. Curly agrees when obviously, it is okay. So, they enter the park, set up the blanket and put out the bento boxes that Shiori made for them to eat. Then, while eating, Aoi takes out some cookies that he, Akane and grandma made and gives a bag to Shiharu. Akane gives the other two their share. She says that she also has one for her uncle but he hasn’t arrived yet. Black asks Curly about the two’s status. Curly says that right now, there is still ‘no progress’. Aoi shows his report card to Shiharu and she is amazed that he got 𝟘.  The two think that Aoi really want to get close to Shiharu and he might steal her away.

Her cellphone rings and it is Seiji. She thinks that he might already be near. She answers the phone. He asks where they are right now. Looking at the map, Shiharu tells him the directions. He realizes that he already passes by them so he tells her that he’ll go back to look for them. Curly decides to go to the toilet. Then, to Shiharu’s surprise, everyone wants to go to the toilet. She grabs Curly and asks what to do if everyone left since she’ll be alone with Seiji. Curly says that the two of them just enjoy the flowers together. Shiharu thinks it would be awkward since these past six years, they weren’t able to be alone together. She tells Curly that Seiji would probably avoid meeting her. Just then, wearing a medical mask [<- pollen allergy or hide identity], Seiji sees them. Removing his mask, he says that it is great that he found them, long time no see. Curly greets him back. To their surprise, blushing Shiharu backs away and suddenly starts running away.

That day when she got a ring and a confession from Seiji, her heart is so happy that there are no words to describe it. Whether it is the time when the twins left and she felt a sense of loss or perhaps leaving the orphanage and starting her own life felt lonely, or at that time, she is working at the office, she felt apprehensive about the future. When her inner heart wavers, it is Seiji’s words ‘I’ll wait for you’ always support her up but--.. And, Shiharu continues to run away fast. Seiji says that is strange, does she have an urgent matter. Curly says no, probably it is because she doesn’t want to see his face. This shocks Seiji that he asks why, what did he do. Curly says that looking at it from her point of view, it is because there is nothing between them [Seiji and Shiharu]. After some pause, Seiji points to the shoes and asks if those are Shiharu’s. Curly says that it is so. Taking the shoes, Seiji says that he’ll go get her. Curly happily says to please definitely get her. Seiji thanks her.

Catching her breath by the tree, Shiharu wonders why she ran away and she didn’t even put her shoes on. While Shiharu is looking at her dirtied socks, Seiji who is wearing his mask again calls out to her. He asks her to wait for he wants to say some--.. And she runs away again. He chases after him and tells her that there’s no need to run away as if her life depended on it. Then, he begins to worry about how other people are thinking of him since he is wearing a mask yet chasing after a girl so he might be called over by the police. Shiharu runs towards the pond that he shouts that is very dangerous don’t run.. She slips and he catches her. Seiji removes his mask for he starts to feel dizzy. Seeing his hand holding her wrist, she asks why he chased after her. She thinks that obviously he is deliberately avoiding her. He says that it is because she isn’t wearing her shoes so first wear these or else, her feet would get hurt for there are stones on the ground.

Shiharu thinks that ever since before it is always like this, he would treat her kindly every time and it makes her chest painful. She starts to cry and pulls away her hand. She says that he is the bad one. She explains that during high school, it is because he said that he’ll wait for her so she has always been doing her best but..he is gradually becoming a person who didn’t live in the same world [as she is; he becomes popular in media] and like this she’ll be left behind because no matter how hard she works in wanting to chase after him, the distance only becomes bigger and bigger--.. She wanted him to still like her even if 10 years had passed and if this goes on, no matter how long, it is still--.. Puzzled Seiji says for her to say not in the same world, he should have not changed right. She asks how come he would deliberately avoid her. This surprises him. He says that once in a way, it is rare for everyone together together with the twins but it seems like he avoids her that he would leave first.

And, at times, he always deliberately changes the time himself on when to see the twins. There is a scene when grandma tells her that Seiji had already visited the twins a week ago. She says that he wanted to take back the words about ‘wait until you become an adult’. Not wanting him to say it for she doesn’t want to listen to the truth but.., Shiharu tells him that even if it is like that, if he doesn’t say things clearly to her she would have always wait at this side all by herself.. She starts to cry again that he holds her face and kisses her. This surprises her. Seiji admits to her that he deliberately changed the time because he already knows that he can no longer control his feelings. If he were to say something, she has become more mature every time he sees her when he obviously told her to ‘please wait for me for 10 years’. And if he weren’t able to endure before then, isn’t that awful when he is already older.. This made her speechless.

She covers her face and asks if she can continue on keeping that ring. He tells her to please keep it but actually there is something that he wants to talk with her. He asks if he can move that promise a bit earlier. She smiles and says that she agrees. He leans to her as they prepare to kiss again. Narration: “The one I always like, longed for, that person whom I originally should be chasing after but [in the end], brought my shoes and chased me to come back--..” The couple goes back to the others who are playing badminton. After greeting each other back, the twins ask where they went. Shiharu apologizes and says that she went on a stroll.. The twins also want to go on a stroll with her so she happily agrees. Narration: “Even if once in a way, unable to hide uneasy feelings and painful memories, but one only have to lift up one’s head and face forward. Then, notice that the important people are already extending their hand to you. *Black and Curly are speechless as Seiji removes a petal from blushing Shiharu’s hair.* This way, each day would be treasured. And, from today on, it will definitely continue on.” Black finds that action suspicious that Curly plans to tease Shiharu. The end. There seems to be a side story on autumn so maybe there will be a wedding scene there.
