Preview: Tsubasa to Hotaru [Chapter 22]

Yuuma says that it doesn’t matter to him, that training-whatever. With a smile, Tsubasa says that she’ll call and ask the others. Yuuma watches Tsubasa who is looking sad while thinking that it is inevitable since it is practice. It’s Christmas Eve. Everyone had a toast and eats cake. Sparkling Mikazuki mentions about wanting to sit beside Yuuma. [Thanks TAP for the help on the names ^^] With a frozen smile, Yuuma wants to refuse. The two guys are thinking about how cute Mikazuki is. Yuri exclaims that it is time for the exchange gift. Tsubasa wonders about the sequence. Yuri suggests that they choose one person who’ll give a gift then, the one who got the gift will give the gift to someone and so on.

Tsubasa offers to be the one to start. She exclaims that it is Yuuma. Her friends are surprised for it turns out that she got Yuuma. Tsubasa apologizes for keeping it a secret from them. Opening the package, Yuuma says that it is a scarf. Tsubasa says that she hesitated for a long time but in the end, she chose a scarf so if he likes it.. Yuuma immediately puts it around his neck and asks if it is okay. Tsubasa says that it’s super handsome. The girls approve of Tsubasa’s taste. The other two bored guys tell the girls if they are finished so how about the next one.. And with a frozen smile, Yuuma gives a gift to Mikazuki. It is a cute mug. Mikazuki thanks Yuuma and says that she’s so happy for actually she is currently collecting mugs. Yuuma says is that so, such a mistake. Mikazuki says that in the end, they suit each other. Yuuma says that he doesn’t think so. The other guys are still bored until they became excited since Mikazuki is going to give her gift. It is for Yuri. Later on, it is one of the guys’ turn but the one whom he’ll give a gift to, is Aki.

The other guy says that Tsubasa haven’t gotten her gift so how about giving the gift to her. The guy says that it is snacks [umaibo/delicious stick {small, puffed, cylindrical corn snack from Japan Source: wiki} of various flavors] for in the end, Aki wants something to eat so that is what he got for him. The girls are aghast that the snacks are in a supermarket bag and he didn’t even bother to wrap it. To change the mood, Tsubasa says that it is time to sing karaoke. Yoshinari offers to sing with Yuri and friend as back-up singers. Tsubasa asks Mikazuki if she wants to drink something for she’ll go get some beverages. Mikazuki is surprised when Yuuma offers to get it for Tsubasa and tells her to just sit there. When they came out, the Christmas lights are all lit. Tsubasa mentions how beautiful they are. The others are talking about taking pictures at the photo sticker booth before going home. Tsubasa wonders what to do with Aki’s Christmas gift and if she should go to his house to give it to him. That would be making a big issue over a small thing and she doesn’t know when the practice will be over.

Then, the two guys call out to Tsubasa and tell her that they want to add the girls in their LINE [internet messaging app] since they weren’t able to ask during the karaoke. Tsubasa says is that so, then, they’ll exchange it right now. Before Tsubasa can tell them, Yuuma covers her mouth and says, “‘Ya ya’ you little sisters, go ask that kind of small thing yourselves, cowards.” Yuuma pulls Tsubasa’s hand and walks away with her. Surprised Tsubasa asks him where they are going when the station isn’t at this side. Yuuma says that he told her before, helping others in whatever stuff is not at all something good. “By the way, obviously, it is those guys who want to have a Christmas party yet in the end, how come you are the one who is busy from the start to end? Don’t you think that’s strange? Weren’t you totally being called back and forth by them as they pleased? Too embarrassed to ask other people’s LINE. Regarding that, who cares about them. You don’t have any obligation to listen and obey them.” Tsubasa asks how can that be..

Yuuma darkly asks if she is going to say again that it is simply helping from the sidelines. “Obviously, you are really bothered that Aki didn’t join, right? Are you truly happy with just those people around? Even if Aki is the one who makes me the angriest. Why didn’t he come?
